Custom Made 14KT Yellow Gold Bezel Set Citrine and Blue Enamel Ring

This custom made designer ring is crafted in 14kt yellow gold and features a bezel-set 1.70 carat oval shaped cabochon cut citrine, horizontally-set at its center. The citrine rests above a domed band that exudes personality with its cobalt blue enamel finish. A four part ribbing spans, in a curved fashion, from the citrine bezel to the twisted wire and high polish double band that caps both the top and bottom. A pattern of seven high polished beads create a dimpled dramatic effect on each side. Enamel is made of metal and a powder coating. The process involves fusing the powder coating to the base metal at extremely high temperatures. Enamel is quite temperamental and requires great skill in getting it just right. The decorative technique of enameling first dates back to the Mycenaean goldsmiths of the 13th century, but it became particularly popular in sartorial circles during the 1920s Jazz Age, when flapper girls sported jewelry and vanity cases accented with graphic blocks of colour.
